SOURCE:Pfizer

DESCRIPTION:

The Pfizer Foundation* is proud to partner with organizations like CARE in underserved areas around the world to create sustainable solutions that help improve women’s health and access to family planning.

Beginning in 2015, we worked with CARE to launch an initiative that would do just that. Together, we focused on a simple question: how can we best deliver education and care for family planning that optimizes local health capacity in Benin and helps women to make safe, confident health decisions?

The result: a three-year collaboration with the Benin Ministry of Health on HIN NOU VIVO! (“Wellbeing of the Family”), an innovative program delivering integrated services to women in the Adjohoun-Bonou-Dangbo health zone. This integrated delivery model enables women to receive family planning at the same time their children are vaccinated, and the impact of the program has been emboldening.

To date, the uptake of family planning services in the program’s region has doubled, with more than 8,000 women opting to start a modern contraceptive method since the initiative began in 2016. More than 34,000 women have participated in education sessions when they brought their children for routine immunizations, which in turn has led to over 50,000 children receiving vaccinations. Beyond the numbers, staff have also reported more positive attitudes towards contraception and greater willingness among women to discuss their options.

It looks like George Clooney is hanging up his helmet for good.

Fans of the "Ocean's Eleven" star may remember the headlines from last year when he was involved in a scooter accident in Sardinia.

Although Clooney's injuries from the crash were not serious, it seems it was enough to shake up his wife Amal, who has apparently told him to ditch the two-wheelers.

The actor has donated his 2017 Harley-Davidson Dresser Touring to eBay for Charity to benefit Homes for Our Troops, a nonprofit organisation that provides adapted homes for severely injured post-9/11 veterans.

JetBlue Foundation provides $135,000 in grants to Ciencia Puerto Rico, EcoExploratorio, Inter American University of Puerto Rico and the Puerto Rico Aviation Maintenance Institute

SOURCE:JetBlue Airways

DESCRIPTION:

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, November 8, 2018 /3BL Media/ – JetBlue (NASDAQ:JBLU) today announced the JetBlue Foundation has awarded $135,000 in grants to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education programs in Puerto Rico to aid in long-term post-hurricane recovery. Grants of varying amounts were provided to organizations that are investing in the island’s future and placing aviation and STEM top-of-mind as career choices for students.

Earlier this spring, the JetBlue Foundation opened a granting application cycle to qualified programs and organizations working to fuel STEM learning. The Puerto Rico-specific grants are part of 100x35JetBlue, which is JetBlue’s ongoing initiative to help Puerto Rico recover from Hurricane Maria through 35 ways over 100 days and beyond, with the JetBlue now focusing on the long-term phase. JetBlue currently serves three destinations in Puerto Rico including its San Juan focus city where JetBlue is the largest carrier, as well as Aguadilla and Ponce. This year, JetBlue celebrated its 16th anniversary of service to Puerto Rico.

Grant Recipients include:

  • Ciencia Puerto Rico’s mission is to democratize science and transform education in Puerto Rico by engaging and empowering a diverse, global community of scientists, students, educators and allies. Through its "Ciencia al Servicio de Puerto Rico"  (Science in Service of Puerto Rico) program, the non-profit will leverage its large and committed network of more than 9,000 STEM professionals and educators to transform the way science is taught on the island.
  • EcoExploratorio inspires people to explore, share and protect the natural environment through STEM. EcoExploratorio will develop the “In the Clouds” program to enhance Aviation Engineering and Technology, Aviation Weather Forecasting and Sustainable Development. “In the Clouds” will work with 25 girls ages 10 to 14, from economically disadvantaged and under-represented communities throughout San Juan to stimulate their interests in aviation and STEM.
  • Inter American University of Puerto Rico (INTER), a previous JetBlue Foundation grant recipient, is the second largest university system in Puerto Rico.

INTER Aguadilla focuses on the holistic formation of students through excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels. At least 30 students per semester will learn the culture of science, and all academic areas will be strengthened with special attention to an interdisciplinary education and the integration of technology. The Aguadilla Campus will form the “Microbial Biodegradation of Jet Aviation Fuel” program as an opportunity to mentor the next generation of the Puerto Rican STEM workforce.

INTER Bayamón produces competent professionals with a high-quality academic education that is dynamic, relevant, and responsive to the latest advances in STEM, aeronautics, business administration, and the arts. The “Give Wings to Their Dreams” project will partner with the School of Aeronautics and JetBlue Foundation to support student pilots from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. This program will aid in certifications and provide support toward pilot licenses.

  • The Puerto Rico Aviation Maintenance Institute (PRAMI) is the only institution in Puerto Rico that complies with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), part 147 for Aviation Maintenance Technician schools. Following Hurricane María, their library and equipment were damaged or destroyed. The Interactive Learning Space will receive special new equipment and will use special technical software to supplement traditional classroom learning. The initiative will also help PRAMI comply with the Puerto Rico Approval State Agency for accreditation and the FAA requirements.

The JetBlue Foundation’s new president, Ursula Hurley, was on hand to distribute these grants at a special ceremony where she met with the organizations that provide access to students and communities traditionally under-represented in STEM fields. The JetBlue Foundation was founded in 2013 with a mission to reach 5,000 students in five years and provide educational opportunities through grants and in-kind support to diverse programs, volunteerism and partnerships. Former JetBlue Foundation President Joanna Geraghty, who is currently president and chief operating officer at JetBlue, met this mission and recently passed the baton to Hurley.  Hurley, who also serves as vice president and treasurer at JetBlue, will guide the Foundation in its next chapter of empowering future aviation professionals.

“JetBlue and the JetBlue Foundation are dedicated to helping Puerto Rico in its long-term recovery and towards an even brighter tomorrow. Our focus is on investing in the next generation of aviation professionals, and ensuring they are prepared to join the industry,” said Ursula Hurley, president, JetBlue Foundation.  “These grants are just one of more than 35 efforts we’ve taken to invest in Puerto Rico, and will fuel both the long-term success of the island and our industry.”

Beyond just grants, the JetBlue Foundation provides in-kind support, mentoring, internships and much more to make a difference for the next generation of aviators, engineers, dispatchers, schedulers, aircraft mechanics and pilots and other STEM professionals. Over the past five years, the Foundation has built ongoing relationships with more than 50 aviation and STEM-focused programs and provided over $1.1 million in grants to help these programs take off and soar. For more information on the JetBlue Foundation, visit jetbluefoundation.org.

Lessons in the Power of Data for Good and Pro Bono

DESCRIPTION:

In 2017, giving to charitable causes in the United States reached an estimated $410 billion, a record for the third straight year. And yet, despite this growing generosity, the needs have not decreased. One in eight Americans still struggles with hunger, and the poverty rate in the United States has fluctuated between 11 and 15 percent for over fifty years. Increasing charitable giving may not be the long-term answer to resolving complex social challenges. Instead, growth in skills-based volunteering and pro bono projects could be key to unlocking new solutions.

This week marks Pro Bono Week, an annual initiative that celebrates and encourages professionals who use their skills and expertise to support nonprofits and advance social change. Whether pro bono work is completely new for your company or it’s already a strategic part of your philanthropic giving, Pro Bono Week is a great opportunity to review and reflect on how collaborations between your company and nonprofit organizations can advance challenging social issues.

Since Nielsen Cares, our global employee volunteer program began in 2010, skills-based volunteering and pro bono work have been integral to our strategy. By leveraging the data and analytical capabilities that we have as a company, our Data for Good projects have been anchored in Nielsen’s data, products and insights to help nonprofit organizations maximize their impact through improved outreach, messaging, effectiveness and efficiency. So, what have we learned in the eight years since our pro bono journey began? Here are a few of my key takeaways as our program continues to evolve.

Supporting the Largest Habitat for Humanity Development in Colorado

Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver is close to completing the largest Habitat development in the state of Colorado, thanks to support from Wells Fargo

SOURCE:Wells Fargo & Company

DESCRIPTION:

About two years ago, Wells Fargo team member Michael Dunn had an idea. While speaking to team members in Community Development in Denver, he asked if the company had ever sponsored an entire house with local affiliate Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. Nothing came of the conversation at the time, but the Community Development team asked him about it last year. This time, the idea became reality.

Currently, construction on a house completely sponsored by Wells Fargo is underway in nearby Sheridan, Colorado. It is expected to be completed in December.

“To get here, it adds an extra layer of accomplishment that it’s coming to fruition,” Dunn, a relationship support manager for Wells Fargo’s Government Institutional Banking in Denver, said during one of the first build days of the home. “Whether we’re hammering nails, sawing, or putting up walls, the end goal is to make a family's dream come true and help put a family in that house. This is definitely a big moment for me, the breaking ground we’re starting right now.”

The approximately $150,000 needed to sponsor the house is from the Wells Fargo Foundation, and about $80,000 of that is from a Team Member Volunteer Program grant. As a part of the grant, team members are required to volunteer 1,500 hours. Dunn said the team is hoping to double that and exceed 3,000 hours when the house is completed.

This is just the latest project in Wells Fargo’s 20 years of supporting the Habitat affiliate. Since 1998, Wells Fargo has invested more than $1.38 million in local home construction and repair programs in Denver. More than 780 team members have volunteered almost 9,600 hours.

The house Wells Fargo sponsored is one of the 63 homes built in Sheridan Square, which is 4.35 acres and the largest Habitat for Humanity development in the state of Colorado, said Heather Lafferty, CEO and executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. In November 2015, Wells Fargo provided the initial grant of $250,000 through its Priority Markets Grant program, which allowed Habitat to purchase the land and begin developing it.

“The combination of financial support and volunteer support is so meaningful,” Lafferty said. “There are countless numbers of homes that we’ve built new, as well as ones that we have repaired, so that families can stay in their homes in neighborhoods. So often, Wells Fargo comes in as one of the first funders, especially for a project like Sheridan Square, and then we’re able to leverage what Wells Fargo has invested to attract more donors and more funders to investing in our communities.”

Once the development is complete, Habitat estimates that homeowners will pay $77,000 in annual property taxes and increase the homeownership rate by 6 percent, Lafferty said. The school district will also have hundreds of students attending, as a result.

“Habitat for Humanity is about so much more than a wall and a roof,” Lafferty said. “It’s about changing lives. Our impact is seen for generations. We are now seeing that children growing up in Habitat homes are much more likely to graduate high school and to go on to college. That is transformational. The work that we are doing here today, we are literally building a foundation for a much brighter future.”

Dunn said he has enjoyed seeing the idea he and the Community Development team had come to life. “It’s one of those moments where you’re helping someone accomplish something they worked so hard to achieve,” Dunn said. “We get to play a role in that, whether it’s providing affordable housing through loans, raising money for the project through Habitat, or even just putting the man hours out here and the sweat equity. There are lots of different ways that we’re helping not only this specific family that will live here, but the community as a whole.”

How Our Veterans Energize National Grid

$

SOURCE:National Grid

DESCRIPTION:

By Dean Seavers

Two years ago I sat down for a Veterans Day breakfast with about 100 National Grid employees who had served in the US Armed Forces. I was struck by two insights that morning that spoke to the wisdom of hiring veterans.

The first was that an employee from Buffalo drove halfway through the night to attend the 8AM breakfast in Boston – and was one of the first to arrive. She said there was no way she’d miss getting together with her fellow veterans.

The second was that employees throughout the company jumped at the chance to honor their colleagues by contributing home-baked goods for the breakfast and turning the morning meal into a real celebration of community and thanks.

Like many US energy companies, National Grid is at the forefront of a clean energy transition that is dependent on advanced technology, automation, and STEM capabilities. Forces like digital disruption, market-based pricing, and renewable energy alternatives mandate that we focus on the evolution of job skills.  As our workforce also transitions – we estimate one-third will retire in the next ten years – it’s crucial that we recruit for the skill set we require and the values that underpin the way we work.

We currently employ more than 700 veterans, and have committed to hiring veterans in years to come.  Veterans come to us with field experience and skills – particularly STEM – that are easily transferable.

In many instances veterans are taking on the same type of role they had while in the service.  Now at National Grid, they are executives, analysts, engineers, managers, and technicians. They work in emergency planning, data management, electric and gas operations, customer service, finance, and many other areas.

More importantly, I don’t know of another demographic that more emphatically embodies commitment, teamwork, and focus.   Again, this ready-made leadership makes for a natural transition to our team. When I talk to veterans about our intent to begin and end every interaction with the “customer” in mind, they get it!

We know that hiring veterans is smart and the right thing to do, and we partner with some great organizations to make it happen. We work closely with Troops to EnergyHelmets to Hardhats, and Military Officers Association of America, among others in our recruiting efforts.

Inside the company, we also have an active veterans’ employee resource group that boasts close to 500 members, many of whom are not veterans. The group supports several veterans’ organizations within our service territory through volunteering and fundraising.

Last year, our vets group held a camouflage hard hat campaign, and sold more than 6,000 of these one-of-a-kind hard hats to employees. The money raised went in part to train and provide service dogs for veterans suffering   from post -traumatic stress disorder; to cover the costs of war veterans visiting war memorials in Washington D.C.; and to organizations supporting the families of veteran suicide victims.

Wanda Fournier is an Air Force veteran and proud member of our veterans resource group. She says being a veteran at National Grid has taught her two things: “One, leadership skills never go out of style; and two, the energy industry offers a natural transition for those that want to lead by change.”

Our pathway to a clean energy future will make for a bumpy ride at times. But with a dedicated workforce in place, we will get there with an abundance of leadership, thanks in large part to the US vets in our ranks.

CHARLOTTE, N.C., November 9, 2018 /4 -- Duke Energy Carolinas, a subsidiary of Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK), has completed its inaugural issuance of $1 billion in green bonds that will finance eligible green energy projects – including zero-carbon solar and energy storage – in North and South Carolina. This represents one of the largest green bond transactions issued by a utility.

"Today marks a milestone for our company and demonstrates our continued commitment to generating cleaner energy for our customers and communities," said Duke Energy executive vice president and chief financial officer Steve Young. The company anticipates adding 1,800 MW of built and purchased solar capacity over the next five years.

The green bonds, with a weighted average coupon of 3.74 percent between the three-year and 10-year maturities, will ensure the company's renewable energy projects continue to be financed on attractive terms to serve Carolinas customers.

The company priced the green bonds on Nov. 5 and closed the transaction on Nov. 8.

"Similar to Duke Energy, investors are increasingly interested in clean and renewable energy and now we can partner together to transform our energy future in the Carolinas," commented Young.

PHOENIX, November 10, 2018 /3BL Media/ — Mohawk Group will showcase innovative floor coverings designed to advance healing and productivity in healthcare interiors at the Healthcare Design Expo and Conference in Phoenix. The event takes place at the Phoenix Convention Center, Nov. 10–13, 2018, and is sponsored by Healthcare Design Magazine as the premier design exposition and conference dedicated to healthcare interiors in North America. More than 3,200 industry professionals will learn about the latest research, trends and strategies while discovering the newest products and solutions for healthcare spaces.

“At Mohawk, we believe that healing spaces should empower the mind, body and spirit, and that flooring solutions should help foster optimum health and wellness,” said Cynthia Hubbell, vice president of healthcare and senior living for Mohawk Group. “By leveraging our family of brands, we connect our clients with a single-source experience to help them create healthcare interiors that enable patients and care providers to thrive.”

Set this year in Arizona, Mohawk Group’s showcase at space 709 will feature flooring influenced by the desert Southwest and other selections rooted in biophilic design. Highlighted collections include Healthy Environments carpet tile and resilient sheet and Pivot Point enhanced resilient tile.

HEALTHY ENVIRONMENTS
The award-winning Healthy Environments carpet and hard surface collection is inspired by the alluring, soothing colors and textures of species native to the American Southwest. In addition to their natural beauty, the innate hardiness of these plants provides a paradigm for perseverance through difficult challenges and environments. Healthy Environments was honored this summer with the Best of NeoCon Innovation Award for Healthcare Flooring.

Carpet Tile: Healthy Environments incorporates three 12" x 36" carpet tile patterns influenced by nature. Baccharis is inspired by the organic fluidity of desert broom plants. Chitalpa features an organic grid visual in homage to the utilitarian desert willow branches. Xeric’s randomly flowing appearance was influenced by the tops of mesquite trees and branches below. Each carpet plank is manufactured using sustainable Duracolor Tricor premium nylon fiber, making it functional for the most demanding spaces with inherent stain and wear resistance, advanced soil-hiding capabilities and enhanced color clarity. Healthy Environments carpet tile comes standard on Red List-free EcoFlex NXT carpet tile backing.

Resilient Sheet: Healthy Environments also includes four heterogeneous sheet patterns in 6' and 12' formats that coordinate with the carpet tile selections. Sisalana features a nondirectional, monolithic textile pattern resembling sisal. Juniperus is a workhorse pattern with a wood visual reminiscent of the highly valued juniper tree. Geomorphic mimics the natural desert floor with a beautiful terrazzo appearance. Klei Firma provides a clean and sophisticated adobe brick aesthetic. The sheet patterns include a 20 mil commercial wear layer and an M-Force™ Enhanced Urethane finish for superior durability and stain resistance.

PIVOT POINT
Pivot Point Red List-free enhanced resilient tile represents a true change in direction for sustainable resilient flooring, combining high performance and sophisticated design to enhance healthcare and clinical environments. The Living Product Challenge Petal certified hard surface is manufactured using alternative chemistry and was designed to give more back to the environment than it takes during its entire life cycle. Design and color draw inspiration from fresh, natural materials and biophilic influence, including four wood and four textile patterns in a 7" x 48" plank format and four terrazzo and natural stone visuals in 36" x 36" tiles. The colors and styles within the carbon-neutral collection can be combined or used individually to create abstract, contemporary flooring designs for healthcare spaces. Pivot Point features a 3 mm thickness, a 20-mil commercial wear layer for superior durability and an M-Force™ Enhanced Urethane finish.

With an unparalleled selection of elegant tile, natural stone and slab products for healthcare spaces, Daltile will also be showcased as part of Mohawk’s presence at the expo. Featured at the booth will be Emerson Wood with StepWise Technology, which allows for 50 percent more slip resistance than regular tile.

“Flooring is an integrated part of patient-centered healing environments, from acute care and nonacute to all levels of senior living, and we are proud to be able to leverage our respective brands across multiple categories to serve our valued partners,” added Hubbell.

As part of conference programming, Mohawk’s Hubbell will join panelists representing Medxcell, Haworth and Wilsonart to speak on the “Three Boldest Trends in Flooring, Surfaces and Furnishings Every Designer and Owner Should Know,” Nov. 11, 6–6:30 p.m., in the convention center’s Solutions Theater. Sound whiz and certification guru accept awards at Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) Inaugural Leadership Forum

SOURCE:Ingersoll Rand

DESCRIPTION:

November 13, 2018 /3BL Media/ - Product certification expert Darryl Denton and Acoustics expert Stephen Lind took home the 2018 Richard C. Schulze Award at the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) leadership forum in Tucson, AZ, yesterday. Both seasoned engineers have made a mark on their respective fields, and both work for Trane®, a brand of Ingersoll Rand.

The award winners earned the distinction through decades of service to the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) industry. Darryl established the Lab Evaluation and Adjustment Plan (LEAP) program to standardize third-party HVAC testing, and Stephen’s sound modeling and predictions have helped countless customers design building HVAC systems with acoustics in mind.

“Darryl and Stephen have made a difference to our profession through their outstanding contributions to AHRI and the entire HVAC community,” said Stephen Yurek, president and CEO of AHRI, who noted it’s rare for professionals from the same company to take home the award in consecutive years, let alone in the same year. “Their knowledge and commitment to excellence represent the high standards of this organization On behalf of AHRI, we thank them for their combined 40 years of service to our industry.”

Darryl Denton – Mentor and Innovator

Darryl Denton, Trane systems engineer, in Tyler, TX, has helped countless HVAC professionals through his mentorship. His innovative thinking and technical expertise also make him a go-to resource for air-conditioning assessment testing and instrumentation.

“Trane’s success comes through Darryl’s passion,” said Matthew Pereira, vice president of engineering and technology for Trane’s residential business. “The HVAC industry is constantly evolving, and accurate test data is vital. Darryl’s expertise and contributions are invaluable to our company and our customers.”

Since the early 1990s, Darryl has been a voting member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Standard Project Committee 37. Darryl, who has been with Trane since 1999, developed the LEAP  program for standardized testing. He remains active on multiple AHRI committees including the compliance, technical and engineering committees.

Stephen Lind – Acoustics Expert and Active Committee Member

Stephen is an acoustic engineer for Trane Commercial in La Crosse, Wis. He develops Trane products that meet the AHRI acoustic standards and measures the sound the product emits. Trane utilizes the data when recommending products to clients.

Stephen has been with Trane since 1998 and is active on the AHRI Technical Committee on Sound since 2001. He currently serves as deputy chair for the committee. He is also the chair of multiple sub-committees within AHRI, and a member of the Acoustical Society of America and a board-certified member of the Institute of Noise Control Engineering.

“Trane customers heavily consider acoustics during HVAC installations and Stephen’s expertise helps Trane exceed customer’s expectations,” said Ken Schoeneck, vice president of engineering for Trane’s commercial business. “Stephen predicts and models sound to help Trane customers design buildings with acoustics in mind.”

JACKSON, Mich., Nov. 13, 2018 /3BL Media/ – As Michigan gears up for winter, Consumers Energy announced today that it is contributing $2 million to help Michigan residents stay safe and warm.

“When the temperatures start to drop, we know there are Michigan families who struggle to make ends meet. As part of our commitment to the people we serve, Consumers Energy is happy that we can help thousands of families stay warm this winter,” said Patti Poppe, Consumers Energy’s President and Chief Executive Officer.

“We want people to know that help is always available and is just a phone call away.”

The $2 million contribution will help as many as 2,500 households in Consumers Energy’s CARE program. The CARE program provides monthly credits toward energy bills as well as forgiveness of past-due balances. Consumers Energy encourages people who are facing hardship with energy bills or other needs to call 2-1-1, a free service in all Michigan counties that connects people with resources to help in their community.

Those who call 2-1-1 can be referred to one of the four nonprofit organizations that are receiving the $2 million from Consumers Energy. They are United Way of Jackson County, TrueNorth Community Services, The Salvation Army and The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW).

In addition, Consumers Energy this month is including information about available energy assistance options in all residential bills. The energy provider reminds customers not to fall behind on their bills before reaching out for help.

P&G Highlights Contributions to Society, the Community and the Environment in New 2018 Citizenship Report

SOURCE:P&G

DESCRIPTION:

P&G issued its 2018 Citizenship Report, which highlights the Company's progress in its Citizenship priority areas of Community Impact, Diversity & Inclusion, Gender Equality and Environmental Sustainability, all of which are based in a foundation of Ethics and Corporate Responsibility.

CINCINNATI, November 13, 2018 /3BL Media/ - The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:PG) extends its long history of doing good in the world by bringing the comforts of home to those impacted by disasters, continuing to spark conversations about diversity, inclusion and gender equality with its advertising and making meaningful impact on the environment with new 2030 goals including a vision to ensure that none of the Company’s packaging ends up in the world’s oceans.

Captured in the 2018 Citizenship Report released today, P&G highlights the recent activities that define the Company as a force for good and a force for growth.

“Our aspiration is clear. We want to be a force for good and force for growth. We know that the more we integrate and build Citizenship into how we do business, the bigger the impact we can make with the people we serve, the communities where we live and work, and the broader world that surrounds us. In turn, this helps us grow and build our business,” said David Taylor, P&G’s Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer.

The Company has made progress in all its Citizenship priority areas and the highlights from the report include:

  • Community Impact: This year, the Company celebrated a milestone with its Children’s Safe Drinking Water Program, distributing its 14 billionth liter of clean drinking water to those who need it most. P&G’s brands played an important role in helping those impacted by natural disasters such as the hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Maria and Florence, and our Tide Loads of Hope program washed more than 3,800 loads of laundry to help bring a sense of normalcy to those suffering the effects of natural disasters.

  • Diversity & Inclusion: P&G sparked important conversations around equality with two award-winning films: “The Talk” about racial bias and “The Words Matter” about LGBT+ inclusion. Its brands launched multiple advertising campaigns that include positive portrayals of diverse families and individuals. Internally, the Company introduced additional benefits to modernize employee parental leave policies as part of its Flex@Work program.

  • Gender Equality: As a leader in using its voice to call attention to gender equality, P&G created a thought-provoking new exhibit, “Women at Work: Myth vs. Reality,” which challenges outdated thinking about women in the workplace. It also partnered with Sesame Workshop and the Muppets to set new expectations about gender for boys and girls around the world and introduced a range of new brand advertising campaigns championing equal voice and equal representation for all individuals.

  • Environmental Sustainability: In April, the Company announced ambitious sustainability goals for 2030. Having already achieved many of its 2020 goals for climate, water and waste, P&G’s Ambition 2030 framework focuses on where the Company can make the biggest positive difference – with its brands, supply chain, society and employees. The Company has renewed its focus on plastic waste and many of its brands are stepping up to increase the recyclability of packaging and use more recycled material.

“For more than 180 years, the Company has been touching and improving lives. It’s who we are. It’s what we do. And it motivates us to do more and be a force for good and a force for growth in the world,” said Taylor.

The Executive Summary, a 24-page overview of the progress and stories is available online as well as a detailed version of the report. David Taylor’s video discussing the progress on Citizenship can be found online here. P&G published a Sustainability Report annually since 1999 but expanded it beginning in 2016 to include a more comprehensive overview of the Company’s Citizenship priorities.
