Recently, Avista collaborated with The Salvation Army of Spokane in preparation for the new school year. Backpacks for Kids – the largest backpack distribution event in the region – helps students start off the school year by providing them with backpacks filled with school supplies. This year, eighty Avista volunteers helped distribute 5,500 backpacks, and through employee donations, Avista gave $9,600 to the effort.
