DESCRIPTION:

Time Warner Cable celebrated its first “Together We Can” Week of Service in San Diego this November. Our week-long community service initiative furthered the company's vision to create and foster deeper partnerships between our Time Warner Cable employees and the communities we live in and serve.

Together, we kicked off the holiday season of giving with a bang! In just five days, 500+ TWC employee volunteers harnessed their commitment and enthusiasm for giving back and made a difference by completing more than 861 volunteer hours. Together, we: made blankets for sick children, addressed hunger in both the San Diego community and abroad, wrote letters and made paracord survival bracelets for active military personnel,  walked to support disabled veterans and donated blood.

We worked with several nonprofit partners to bring the week to life. We partnered with Project Linus to make more than 300 blankets for sick children.  We worked with Operation Gratitude to write 129 thank you letters and make more than 400 paracord survival bracelets for US troops.  We packaged 20,000 meals for children living in third world countries, with Stop Hunger Now. We worked with the San Diego Food Bank to make 250 senior food boxes and donate 4,100lbs of food. We donated 40 pints of blood and registered 54 new blood donors for the San Diego Blood Bank.  We walked to support the Disabled American Veterans organization.

These projects, which addressed a variety of community needs, focused on engaging Time Warner Cable employees and demonstrating Time Warner Cable’s on-going commitment to strengthening communities, celebrating diversity and giving back. This is just one way we're giving back during this holiday season.
