DESCRIPTION:
As we close 2015, I thought it would be interesting to take a look back at the impact Sealed Air’s Soap For Hope program has had this year. The program partners with hotel chains to take discarded soap scraps and use them to bring local community residents out of poverty. The soap scraps are repurposed by local residents, trained by our Soap For Hope team, and a new method of livelihood is born. Families and communities are experiencing new opportunity thanks to this program. We could not do the work we do without the partnership of local hotels in the communities we serve, so we must say thanks to them for their commitment to Soap For Hope.
In 2015, Soap For Hope grew and now is active in many countries including Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America. The program was noticed and covered extensively in those countries by many different media channels in various languages. We’ve compiled some of the major coverage just to give you an idea of the work this program does and the positive impact it has on the local communities.
This compilation is a testament of how far we have come in 2 years, and it's all due to the hard work and more importantly, the HEARTWORK of the teams involved.
Together, we have brought better health and hygiene to many disadvantaged communities in the places where we live and work, we have helped generate small livelihoods to some at-risk people and we helped our customer hotels protect the environment by diverting tons of soap waste away from landfills and incinerators. These results directly correlate to Sealed Air’s 2020 Sustainability Goals, which include commitments regarding waste reduction and societal benefits. It is part of the fiber of Sealed Air that our goals as a company align with bettering the communities and partners we work with on a daily basis.

Thank you to all of you, and I look forward to another successful year of growing Soap For Hope, Linens For Life and other related programs with you and your customers.
